New Morning, New Mercies

It seems hard to believe that I brought Paul to the hospital one week ago.

He is somewhat improved this morning, but he is completely wiped out.  The doctors came by a little while ago and plan to continue the heavy-hitting antibiotic.  He was able to get a little bit of rest in the night, and his bouts with the intestinal symptoms, while still very present, seem to be getting farther apart.  Paul is more stable, so they have even let him try to eat a bit.  Applesauce and Sierra Mist seem gourmet after such a long week, although I think he'd pay big money for a bottle of Squirt if I could find one in the hospital!

We are tremendously grateful for the messages and notes of love and encouragement we have received.  I know the antibiotics are starting to do their job, but I also believe wholeheartedly that the prayers of our friends and family have been an immeasurable help overnight.  May the Lord be praised for his mercies to us this morning.

Thank you for continued prayer.  No word yet on going home, but we are thankful for even tiny steps of progress.

Oh, yeah-- and the sun is out today!

Great news Heidi, though we won't stop praying yet!

From Psalm 4:
There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!” You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Praying for the LORD to show you His goodness; to lift up the light of His face upon you all; to put increasing joy in your hearts; and to grant you all peaceful rest in Him. His grace be with you!

Blessings to you and your family,
